Who are private healthchecks for?

Our health is something that we all tend to focus on more as we grow older, suffer injuries, or develop aches and pains. However, your body could also be suffering from illnesses and conditions without giving any clear indication that something is wrong. A private healthcheck allows you to gain an insight into how your body is functioning, as confirmed by a medical professional. This is incredibly useful regardless of how old you are, your family’s medical history, or if you are feeling sick. A VIDA Clinics’ healthcheck can help you detect potential issues before they become more serious. Oftentimes, more intensive treatment is required to treat a condition rather than prevent it from negatively impacting the body. We also offer targeted checks, such as our Prostate Cancer Screening services.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why get a healthcheck?

Booking a healthcheck is a way to access tests that reveal a range of information relating to your personal health. The test results can also reveal whether you have any unknown conditions or diseases which require treatment. Many will also feature a health check blood test which can help detect a range of undiagnosed conditions affecting daily life, such as low iron levels. In addition, receiving the results of a health check can keep you on track for fitness goals and give you peace of mind regarding your personal health.

What type of health check is right for me?

With a variety of health checks on offer, and each containing multiple tests, it can be confusing to know what’s best. However, the easiest way to decide is to look at what checks are included at each level of healthcheck and consider if they will be of benefit to you. For example, the VIDA Health Premium includes tumour markers whereas the VIDA Health Lite does not. You can also establish what is best for you by booking a private GP consultation.

Is it worth it to have a private healthcheck?

Having a private healthcheck can be expensive however, they contain many individual tests which would likely come with months of waiting on the NHS waiting list. You’re also paying for medical professionals who have time to devote towards your experience. So if you have the funds and you’re worried about your health, a private healthcheck can give you the information you need to put your mind at ease.

What conditions can a private healthcheck test for?

A private healthcheck is designed to provide a general picture of your health. As a result, tests are focused on bloodwork, heart health, diabetes, liver health, kidney health, and bone health. This is because these are all areas responsible for a key function within the body, so an issue with one of them could be cause for further tests. For example, liver damage might be linked to harmful drinking habits. More comprehensive health checks go further still, examining areas such as joint strength, nutritional health, and hormonal health.
