Non-invasive, multi cancer screening for early detection
TruCheck is a new and innovative method of detecting cancer in its early stages using a diagnostic blood test. These tests have been validated in over 40,000 patients and have proven to be the most effective blood test available to detect early cancer indicators. It involves a detailed analysis to check for the presence of cancer cells in your body, identifying the type of cancer you have, and the organ it has originated from.
TruCheck is a revolutionary method of screening that is changing lives across the country. If you’re considering a private cancer screening UK, VIDA Clinics are now offering TruCheck tests.
Why should you consider cancer screening?
Cancer is a disease that is showing no signs of slowing down, with 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 being diagnosed at some point in their lifetime. Research has shown that when it is detected early, patients have a better chance of beating cancer with increased survival rates and lower treatment costs.
Finding cancer early and starting treatment as soon as possible is key to saving lives. The TruCheck cancer screening blood test can identify the presence of cancer in asymptomatic individuals. Also, many of the cancers it can check for are not covered in standard screenings, making it a highly detailed and effective test for early detection with the added benefit of being non-invasive. The test is done using only 3 vials of blood, meaning it's easy and accessible for all guests.
How does TruCheck work?
TruCheck is an advanced blood test screen for cancer that works by detecting Circulating Tumour Cells (CTCs) and clusters of the cells. These cells and clusters are identifiable in the blood of nearly all patients with solid organ cancers and go undetectable in healthy individuals. All that is required for the screening is a simple blood test, it does not involve any radiation. This can help to avoid any procedures that might prove to be unnecessary.
Which cancers does the test check for?
TruCheck can detect a wide range of solid organ cancers, which include but aren’t limited to:
- Salivary gland
- Head and neck
- Biliary tract
- Soft tissue
- Urinary tract
Who is eligible for the test?
There are certain clinical requirements that must be met for this test, so not everyone will be suitable for it. To meet the criteria, you must:
- Be over 40 years of age (in some high-risk cases 35–40-year-olds can be accepted, speak to our team for more information)
- Not currently be experiencing any symptoms of cancer
- Never have been diagnosed with any type of cancer before
- Not had any clinical or radiological suspicion of cancer recently
- Not have previously been treated for any type of cancer
- Not had a blood transfusion within 72 hours of your blood test appointment
TruCheck is particularly beneficial to those who are at a higher risk of developing cancer due to age or family history.
How often should I have the test?
For this test there’s no harm in having frequent screenings as it is non-invasive and only requires a blood draw. However, it is recommended that the test be completed annually in the case of each negative result.
Does TruCheck replace conventional cancer screenings?
No, TruCheck is not a replacement for normal cancer screenings. The VIDA healthcare team can advise whether it is suitable for you to use alongside standard screenings.
