When to see a doctor

You should seek a medical consultation if excessive sweating has disrupted your daily routine, results in emotional distress or social withdrawal or if you have developed your symptoms suddenly, particularly if you notice that you sweat during the night with no obvious explanation.

Things you can do to help
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing to reduce the signs of sweating

  • Wear natural fibre socks that wick away moisture and remember to change your socks regularly

  • Wear leather shoes instead of synthetic fabric

  • Don't wear tight clothing or synthetic fabrics like nylon
