Anti-wrinkle injections contain a natural toxin called Botulinum, which prevents muscles from contracting. The effects will leave your skin looking smoother and fresher than ever before.

When Botulinum Toxin is in injected, it blocks nerve signals to muscles. As a result, injected muscles can’t contract (tense up). These effects are not permanent, but can last for several months. The muscle injected depends on the primary area of concern. Several areas can be treated in one session.

Botulinum can be recommended for pain management In some cases such as for TMJ (pain in jaw).

There is minimal downtime after having treatment. Most day to day activities can be resumed following treatment, such as returning to work or light household duties. It is advised to avoid more strenuous activities such as exercise and excessive sweating. Your practitioner will advise of post-treatment aftercare. 

Anti-wrinkle injections are safe when they are completed by a trained medical practitioner. Medical practitioners must have the appropriate training to complete this non-surgical treatment, the risks are extremely minimal.

Pain and discomfort is usually very mild. Like with any injection, you may feel a small amount of discomfort, similar to a pin prick. You may also experience a mild stinging sensation at the injection site, this feeling should go away within a few seconds but should not be painful.

Anti-wrinkle injections are suitable for most people from the age of 18. Typically, most people begin to start treatment when they notice fine lines and wrinkles appearing but can also be used to prevent lines and wrinkles.

Anti wrinkle injections are not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women or those with a sensitivity to Botulinum Toxin.

On average, botulinum toxin injected into the forehead and Glabella, begins to take effect from 3 days post treatment. It can take upto 14 days to see the full effects.

The results can last from 3 months to 6 months, depending on the person. To maintain results, treatments are recommended every three to six months. 

Other treatments are dependent on the target muscle and expected results.
